Jeroen Briaire obtained his Masters degree in Applied Physics at the Delft University of Technology in the area of Physical Technology. After his Masters exam he started as a PhD student at the ENT department of the Leiden University medical Center. After several years of investigating cochlear implants using computational modeling he started in Juli 2001 with his training to become a clinical physicist in audiology, continuing his research on a par time basis. His registration a clinical physicist followed in September 2006. In 2008 he completed his PhD thesis, entitled Cochlear Implants: From model to Patients. Since 2000 he has been working as an audiologist, for the Leiden Cochlear Implant team. Currently he is director of the care pathway CI and ABI and the coordinator of the CI-related research of the ENT-department in Leiden. He has published over 80 peer-reviewed scientific papers (H-index 26 (WoS)).
